How To Tackle Campus Placement Interviews like A Pro'

In order to get a shot at your dream on campus placement, you need to get through the placement interviews. The key to getting your coveted job role, is to tackle the interviews with tact and intelligence. Placement interviews are basically conducted to examine 3 things –  whether or not the candidate is well versed enough in his/her discipline – whether he/she can handle the technical details, effectively.

Secondly the interviewer wants to check your soft skills – your communication skills and how effectively you can present yourself. Thirdly the interviewer also examines how you deal with stress situations or uncomfortable atmospheres that requires you to be on your toes.

So without any further ado, let us proceed to some popular campus interview questions that are frequently asked.

Tell Me About Yourself : This is an all time favourite question asked during interviews. The basic purpose of this question is to discover how well you know yourself and can define yourself – and quantify your shortcomings and virtues. Moreover you have to describe yourself in a way that makes you a good fit with the job. Be prepared to be creative and tactful with your replies, as you will often be asked to describe yourself in a way that is different to the information given on your CV.

What Are Your Strengths and Weaknesses : Be very careful when answering this question. You are meant to exercise tact. When answering about weakness, refrain from actually over emphasizing on weaknesses such as laziness, negligence, complacency etc. Mention those weaknesses which will not make you look incompetent.

Where Do You See Yourself In 5 Years Time : This is an open ended question. You should answer this question in a way that is relevant to your job role. In order to answer this, you should be thorough with the career progression your job has, and answer accordingly.
